My name is Brandon Citer and I’m in the MA in Law and Governance program at Montclair State University. One of the most significant factors for selecting Montclair for graduate study was the professors. The faculty at Montclair State, at least for my program, they really genuinely want to see students learn, they really want to see students succeed and they’re really confident in their students, and I sensed that from the first day I met the faculty members at the Graduate School Open House. The primary factor of the program that really encouraged me to apply to it and as well as attend is the breadth of what material is actually covered. The factors that influenced my choice of graduate study at Montclair were really the opportunities to do specific research with my advisor. Really coming into graduate school kind of allowed me to use my career, use my work experience to further it to make a difference in the lives of families that I intend to work with in the future. Campus life for graduate students is everything great about the undergraduate experience with a little more adult responsibility I would say that definitely the work I am going through right now currently in my graduate program is much more intense and it allows me to understand these fundamental concepts at a much deeper level. Now I take classes, in addition to teaching undergraduate students, which has really added to my graduate experience and I really enjoy it and I’ve actually found that I would want to do something like this down the line. I’m really enjoying my experience in the program and the career opportunities it’s opened up for me.
